Fly Like a Beagle
This came to me in a dream last night. I swear. Fortunately I wrote the basics down when I woke up, and was able to fill in the rest as I wasted time this afternoon.
"FLY LIKE A BEAGLE"
(sing to "Fly Like an Eagle" by the Steve Miller Band)
I keep on fightin’ fightin’ fightin’
On top of my doghouse
I keep on fightin’ fightin’ fightin’
On top of my doghouse
I want to fly like a beagle
Above the sea
Fly like a beagle
Cuz’ I’m chasin’ Germany
I want to fly like a beagle
End the spree
Of that Baron Manfred Richthofen
Kill the bad guys
And protect the Allied weak
Shoot the Baron
With his kills of seventy-three
Bark at Woodstock
With his squawkin’ little beak
I can do it all with imagination…
I want to fly like a beagle
Above the sea
Fly like a beagle
‘Cuz I’m chasin’ Germany
I want to fly like a beagle
End the spree
Of Manfred von Richthofen
I keep on fightin’ fightin’ fightin’
On top of my doghouse
I keep on fightin’ fightin’ fightin’
On top of my doghouse
(doo, doot, doo doo…etc)
I want to fly like a beagle
Above the sea
Fly like a beagle
‘Cuz I’m chasin’ Germany
I want to fly like a beagle
End the spree
Of Manfred von Richthofen
I keep on fightin’ fightin’ fightin’
On top of my doghouse
I keep on fightin’ fightin’ fightin’
On top of my doghouse….(fade out)
I also saw "Casino Royale" and thought it rocked. And for the record, SO does mostly everyone else. A couple of negative Nancy's out there are missing the point. It's JAMES BOND...it's not SUPPOSED to be the most well-worked out piece of filmmaking. I personally thought Daniel Craig was a fantastic fit, though I was at first nervous like everyone else. I'm reserving judgement as to where he fits on my list until I see him in another movie, but I'm inclined to at least put him on par with Brosnan, meaning the list (List Time!) goes something like this:
RANK-'O-THE-BONDS
1. Connery
2. Brosnan OR Craig
3. Dalton
4. Moore (you suck)
5. Lazenby (haven't actually seen your movie, but I HEAR you suck)
Admittedly the love story was a little weak, and I wasn't crazy about Eva Green so much (the other girl was smokin' though...pity she got killed). However as a whole I left the theater wishing I had a suit, a gun, and the ability to blow stuff up with precision. This longest-running film franchise is far from dead.
Now my super-secret watch is telling me it's time to go hop into my Aston-Martin and rescue my current (if short-lived) girlfriend from a pool invested with sharks. Let me finish up this martini, and then it's farewell.
